Concorde names Mark Garland to lead new Arizona campus

Concorde Career Colleges, the healthcare division of Universal Technical Institute, Inc. (NYSE: UTI), has named Mark Garland as Campus President of its planned Glendale, Arizona, location, according to a company statement.
Garland brings more than 25 years of experience in higher education and operations management. He most recently served as Campus President of the College of Health Care Professions in Dallas.
"Mark brings a remarkable track record of building strong campus communities and delivering outstanding student outcomes," said Kevin Prehn, President of Concorde Career Colleges.
The Glendale campus, located at 8990 W. Glendale Ave., will occupy a 53,000 square-foot facility and is projected to serve more than 620 students annually. Programs are expected to include nursing, dental assistant, dental hygiene, medical assistant, physical therapy assistant, pharmacy technician, surgical technology, and radiologic technology. The facility is scheduled to open in 2027, pending regulatory approvals.
The campus will be Concorde's first in Arizona and its sixth in the Southwest. It is part of Universal Technical Institute's multi-year North Star strategy, which includes opening multiple campuses annually between 2026 and 2029, launching new programs at existing locations, and enhancing operational efficiency. Concorde currently operates 18 campuses across eight states.
