Digi International (NASDAQ: DGII) has launched DANI, the Digi Artificial Network Intelligence agent, an AI tool embedded within its Digi Remote Manager (DRM) network device management platform, according to a company statement.
DANI is built on Model Context Protocol (MCP) and gives operators access to real-time device telemetry, cellular signal data, firmware state, and configuration history through a conversational interface. The agent is designed to support diagnostics, automated troubleshooting, and device health monitoring without requiring separate infrastructure or credentials.
The tool integrates with two existing Digi platform capabilities: Digi eSIM, which manages connectivity for distributed device deployments, and Digi Remote Reach, which provides out-of-band remote device access. DANI is available as a value-added service within DRM and supports multi-tenant deployments for managed service providers.
The company states that an operator managing a fleet of 500 devices could reduce diagnostic time from hours to minutes using DANI.
"By embedding AI directly into the operational fabric of our cloud platforms, we are moving beyond visibility in a major step toward true network autonomy," said Tony Puopolo, President of Digi Managed Solutions.
Digi cited data from ABB's Value of Reliability report, which found that two-thirds of industrial companies experience unplanned downtime at least once a month, at a cost of $125,000 per hour.
DANI is available for early access beginning today.
