Deep Fission joins DOE event at Idaho National Laboratory

Deep Fission, Inc. (Nasdaq: FISN), a company developing small modular pressurized water reactors installed one mile underground, participated in the Golden Era of Nuclear Power event at Idaho National Laboratory's Materials and Fuels Complex in Idaho Falls, Idaho on June 25.
The event was hosted by the Department of Energy and attended by DOE Secretary Wright, along with representatives from across the nuclear energy sector. Deep Fission was represented by co-founder and CEO Liz Muller.
Deep Fission was selected as one of 10 companies to participate in the DOE's Reactor Pilot Program, authorized under Executive Order 14301. The program allows reactor testing and deployment on sites outside of national laboratories. The company is currently advancing its first reactor project in Parsons, Kansas under that program.
The company's appearance at the event follows its recent listing on Nasdaq and an announcement of a customer pipeline representing up to 18.5 gigawatts of potential generation capacity through non-binding Letters of Intent with data centers, industrial partners, and strategic collaborators.
Deep Fission's reactor concept, which it calls the Gravity Nuclear Reactor, places a small modular pressurized water reactor in a borehole approximately one mile underground. According to the company, the approach combines established reactor technology with an underground deployment model.
