Extreme Networks launches multi-beam Wi-Fi product for stadiums

Extreme Networks (NASDAQ: EXTR) announced a new wireless product called Extreme Multi-Beam Wireless, designed for high-density venue environments such as stadiums. The product was developed through a partnership with antenna technology company MatSing.
According to a company press release, the solution combines MatSing's lens antenna technology with sixteen Extreme AP5022FX Wi-Fi 7 access points in a single unit. The system divides a stadium environment into 16 independently serviced radio frequency sectors, allowing operators to target coverage toward specific seating areas from a centralized overhead deployment.
Extreme Networks describes the product as the first 16-sector directional antenna system of its kind, though that claim originates from the company itself. The system is intended to reduce the amount of physical infrastructure required to cover large venues compared to traditional distributed access point deployments.
The Tennessee Titans will be the first organization to deploy the system, with installation planned at Nissan Stadium ahead of its opening in spring 2027.
"As the first venue to deploy Extreme Multi-Beam Wireless, we're defining the future of stadium connectivity," said Russ Hudson, VP of Information Technology for the Tennessee Titans.
Extreme Multi-Beam Wireless is scheduled to be available in the fourth calendar quarter of 2026.
