Brown & Brown names Neil Krauter Sr. to new retail leadership role

Brown & Brown, Inc. (NYSE: BRO) has appointed Neil Krauter Sr. as executive managing director, growth and specialization within its Retail segment, according to a company press release.
In the newly created role, Krauter will report to Steve Hearn, president of Brown & Brown Retail, and will focus on enterprise growth, specialization, talent recruitment, and relationships with private equity sponsors, sovereign wealth funds, and other strategic investors.
Krauter will also continue overseeing the company's Private Equity and Mergers & Acquisitions practice, which serves more than 350 private equity funds through a team of more than 150 specialists covering transactional risk, portfolio company integration, employee benefits, financial products, property and casualty, and claims and litigation management.
Krauter joined Brown & Brown through its 2025 acquisition of Risk Strategies, where he led the Private Equity practice. Before that, he founded Krauter & Company in 2004, which Risk Strategies acquired in 2019. Earlier in his career, he held senior roles at Lloyd's of London, Marsh, and Aon.
Neil Krauter Jr. will continue leading the company's Private Equity Practice.
