LM Funding expands into AI computing with GPU hardware order

June 23, 2026 8:20 AM EDT

LM Funding America, Inc. (NASDAQ: LMFA), a Bitcoin mining and treasury company, announced an expansion into high-performance computing and artificial intelligence infrastructure, including an initial order of GPU server hardware for its Oklahoma facility.

The company operates 26 megawatts of wholly-owned power infrastructure across facilities in Oklahoma and Mississippi, built over approximately 15 months. Average power costs run roughly $0.046 per kilowatt-hour. Currently, about 22 megawatts are used for active Bitcoin mining operations.

The ordered GPU servers incorporate Nvidia professional-grade graphics processing units. Upon deployment, LM Funding plans to list the system on a GPU compute marketplace. The company is also marketing up to 10 megawatts of available capacity at its Mississippi facility for AI co-location and power hosting.

Based on industry benchmarks, LM Funding estimates a potential revenue range of $800,000 to $2 million per megawatt annually, with buildout costs estimated at $10 to $12 million per megawatt. At its current 26-megawatt capacity, a full AI buildout could generate between $20 million and $50 million in annual revenue, according to the company. The company noted that such a buildout would require additional debt or equity financing.

LM Funding is in discussions with its Oklahoma power provider about a potential capacity expansion of between 10 and 50 megawatts, subject to load studies. The company said it intends to own and operate its AI infrastructure directly rather than acting solely as a power or space provider.

As of May 31, 2026, the company held 322.7 Bitcoin valued at approximately $23.8 million, or $1.11 per share, compared to a share price of $0.26 as of May 29, 2026. Mining operations produced 9.8 Bitcoin in May 2026.

The company said it intends to fund the initial AI expansion through its Bitcoin mining operations and Bitcoin treasury. LM Funding is headquartered in Tampa, Florida, and also operates a specialty finance business serving nonprofit community associations in Florida.
