Micron Technology (NASDAQ: MU) announced a strategic agreement with Anthropic that covers memory and storage AI architecture design, a supply agreement, enterprise adoption of Anthropic's Claude AI models, and a strategic investment in Anthropic's Series H funding round, according to a company press release.
The technical collaboration centers on analyzing how memory and storage subsystems perform across various workloads within Anthropic's AI infrastructure. Micron's portfolio of high-bandwidth memory (HBM), DRAM, and SSDs are among the products involved in the effort, which is aimed at improving performance, energy efficiency, and token economics in Anthropic's systems.
Under the supply agreement, Micron will provide memory and storage products from its data center portfolio to Anthropic on a multi-year basis.
Micron has also deployed Anthropic's Claude models internally across engineering, manufacturing, and enterprise functions, with applications including coding acceleration and agentic use cases.
"Our compute strategy depends on getting every layer of the stack right, and memory and storage are central to how efficiently we can train and serve Claude," said Tom Brown, co-founder and chief compute officer at Anthropic. "Partnering with Micron means we collaborate closely on optimizing these systems for our workloads and secure the supply we need."
Financial terms of the strategic investment in Anthropic's Series H round were not disclosed.
