Shoe Carnival Inc. (NASDAQ: SCVL) announced that shareholders approved changing the company's name to Shoe Station Group Inc., effective June 12, 2026. The footwear retailer's stock will begin trading under the new ticker symbol "SHOE" on the same date.
The name change reflects the company's multi-banner strategy, with Shoe Station serving as the primary growth vehicle while Shoe Carnival continues operating in dominant markets, according to Interim President and Chief Executive Officer Cliff Sifford. The company also plans to pursue strategic acquisitions of other footwear retailers.
Shares will continue trading under the current "SCVL" symbol through market close on June 11, 2026. The company's CUSIP number remains unchanged at 824889109, with Computershare continuing as the transfer agent.
The company's board approved a quarterly cash dividend of $0.17 per share, payable July 20, 2026, to shareholders of record as of July 6, 2026. This represents the company's 57th consecutive quarterly dividend payment.
As of June 11, 2026, the company operated 426 stores across 35 states and Puerto Rico under its Shoe Carnival and Shoe Station banners. The retailer offers footwear and accessories for families through both physical locations and e-commerce platforms.
Future dividend declarations remain subject to board approval and will depend on operational results, financial condition, and other factors the board deems relevant.
