Aeva (NASDAQ: AEVA) announced it will showcase its CityOS artificial intelligence-powered traffic intelligence platform at the ITS America Conference & Expo taking place June 9-12 in Detroit.
The company will demonstrate the platform at booth 4064 in the Huntington Place Convention Center. CityOS combines Aeva's Atlas Orion 4D LiDAR sensors with edge artificial intelligence processing and analytics software to monitor traffic activity in real time.
The platform detects and classifies vehicles, pedestrians, cyclists and other road users while measuring position and velocity with centimeter-level precision in all lighting conditions. CityOS provides analytics, alerts and integration outputs for traffic management systems.
According to the company, the system enables continuous detection of road users in various weather conditions, real-time intersection monitoring, safety applications including near-miss detection, traffic signal optimization, and data analytics for transportation planning.
The platform differs from traditional camera and inductive loop systems by operating continuously regardless of lighting conditions. Transportation agencies can use the system to improve traffic flow, enhance signal operations and identify safety risks.
Aeva develops sensing and perception systems for automated driving, manufacturing automation, smart infrastructure, robotics and consumer devices. The company's 4D LiDAR technology detects both velocity and position simultaneously using silicon photonics technology integrated onto chips.
