Ares Management names Peter Ogilvie as chief operating officer

Ares Management Corporation (NYSE: ARES) appointed Peter Ogilvie as chief operating officer and head of strategy, the alternative investment manager announced.
Ogilvie will support the leadership team in executing strategic growth initiatives and scaling global operating capabilities. He previously served as a partner and head of the Ares Corporate Strategy Group, where he shaped the firm's long-term strategic direction.
Since joining Ares in 2007 on the direct lending team, Ogilvie has been involved in acquisitions including Allied Capital, American Capital, Black Creek Group, Landmark Partners and GCP International. He serves as a member of the Ares Operating Committee and on the board of directors of Vinci Compass.
"Peter has been a transformational leader within Ares for nearly two decades," said Michael Arougheti, chief executive officer of Ares. "His deep strategic expertise, his proven ability to execute complex initiatives and his unwavering commitment to our culture make him well suited for this role."
Before joining Ares, Ogilvie worked in the Leveraged Finance and Restructuring Group at Credit Suisse. He holds a bachelor's degree in economics from Yale University.
Ares Management operates as a global alternative investment manager across credit, real estate, private equity and infrastructure asset classes. As of December 31, 2025, the company managed nearly $623 billion in assets under management with operations across North America, South America, Europe, Asia Pacific and the Middle East.
