NXP Semiconductors N.V. (NASDAQ: NXPI) announced robotics solutions developed with NVIDIA for real-time data processing and transport in physical AI applications. The collaboration integrates NVIDIA Holoscan Sensor Bridge with NXP's system-on-chip technology to reduce components, footprint, power consumption and costs in robotic systems.
The solutions target humanoid robots that require secure, low-latency data processing throughout the robot body for synchronized motion and sensor fusion. NXP's integrated approach combines edge processing with networking capabilities to enable real-time communication between robot components and central processing units.
"Physical AI is redefining what machines can do in the real world, and humanoid robots represent the most complex expression of that revolution," said Charles Dachs, Executive Vice President and General Manager, Secure Connected Edge, NXP Semiconductors.
The initial product offerings include a machine vision solution based on the i.MX 95 applications processor and a motor control solution using i.MX RT1180 crossover microcontrollers aggregated through NXP's S32J TSN switch. The motor control solution supports industrial protocols including EtherCAT and Time-Sensitive Networking.
"By integrating NVIDIA Holoscan Sensor Bridge into its edge portfolio, NXP is providing developers with a scalable foundation to accelerate the deployment of physical AI," said Deepu Talla, vice president of robotics and edge AI at NVIDIA.
The collaboration utilizes NXP's edge processors, motor control units, automotive-grade networking technology, and data transport capabilities acquired through Aviva Links, combined with functional safety expertise from automotive applications.
The solutions will be available in the first half of 2026. NXP reported revenue of $12.27 billion in 2025 and operates in more than 30 countries.
