Western Union appoints former Amway CEO Milind Pant to board

Western Union Co. (NYSE: WU) appointed Milind Pant as an independent director to its board of directors, effective immediately, the company announced.
Pant, 55, currently serves as an executive fellow with the Kellogg School of Management. He previously held the position of CEO at Amway, where he led a transformation of the company over six years, shifting its focus from direct selling to consumer health and digital commerce.
Before Amway, Pant served as president of Pizza Hut International and as president and chief operating officer of Yum! China, where he managed a business with over 7,000 restaurants. He also spent 15 years with Unilever in various roles across India, Africa, the Middle East and Turkey.
"Milind's extensive experience in digital transformation and global consumer markets will be invaluable as we continue to advance our strategic priorities," said Jeff Joerres, chair of Western Union's board, according to the company's statement.
Pant will serve on the board's audit and compliance committees, also effective immediately. Western Union operates money transfer and payment services across more than 200 countries and territories.
