Rivian (RIVN) names former Waymo CEO to Board of Directors

Michigan-based electric vehicle startup, Rivian Automotive (NASDAQ: RIVN) announced Wednesday that they have named Former Waymo CEO, John Krafcik to its board of directors. Krafcik also serves as a member of the company’s audit committee.
“John has tremendous leadership experience in the automotive industry and an impressive track record of building and leading innovative companies,” Rivian founder and CEO RJ Scaringe said in a news release.
“I’m confident John will play a key role in helping us achieve our mission to electrify transportation and make it more sustainable.”
Prior to his time at Waymo, Krafcik acted as President of automotive marketplace, TrueCar, where he also served on the Board of Directors.
“I am excited to join the Rivian board and help the company achieve its ambitious goals.” Said Krafcik. “Rivian is at the forefront of the electric vehicle revolution, and I believe that the company will have a major impact on the future of transportation.”
Shares of RIVN are up 1.74% in afternoon trading on Thursday.
