UnitedHealth Group (NYSE: UNH) reported Q2 EPS of $2.46, $0.08 better than the analyst estimate of $2.38. Revenue for the quarter came in at $50.1 billion versus the consensus estimate of $50.06 billion.
"Continued strong revenue growth from new business and exceptional customer retention reflects the confidence customers place in our commitment to and effectiveness in meeting their health care needs,” said Stephen J. Hemsley, chief executive officer of UnitedHealth Group.
Based on performance through the first half of 2017, the Company raised its outlook for 2017 GAAP net earnings to a range of $9.20 to $9.35 per share and adjusted net earnings to a range of $9.75 to $9.90 per share. The consensus is $9.80.
