BlackBerry (BBRY) Opens-up Pre-Orders for First Android Smartphone

BlackBerry's (Nasdaq: BBRY) first Android-based device, the Priv, is now up for pre-order in the U.S., Canada, and the U.K.
TechCrunch noted Friday that shipping of the device will begin on November 6th.
As mentioned in prior report, the Priv has a sliding display with a QWERTY keyboard underneath. The device will run $700 in the U.S., making it a premium Android addition.
Other specs include:
- 5.4-inch dual-curved screen
- 3410 mAh battery. Battery Life: up to 22.5 hours*
- 18 MP dual-flash Schneider-Kreuznach® certified camera
Shares of BlackBerry are up around 2.5 percent, trading to session highs this afternoon.
