NEW DELHI (Reuters) - India's weather department issued a red alert for several parts of the country's northwest on Wednesday, warning of a severe heat wave a day after parts of the capital Delhi recorded their highest temperature ever at almost 50 degrees Celsius (122 Fahrenheit).
A red alert implies a "very high likelihood" of people developing "heat illness and heat stroke", and calls for "extreme care" for vulnerable... (continue reading...)
(Reuters) -ConocoPhillips is in advanced talks to buy Marathon Oil in an all-stock deal that could value the Houston-based company at a little over its $15 billion market value, the Financial Times reported on Wednesday citing people briefed on the matter.
Although a deal seemed to be imminent late on Tuesday night, there was still a risk of negotiations falling apart or that a rival bidder would gatecrash Conoco's takeover plan, the report added.

BHP, the world's largest listed mining group, also proposed a range of socio-economic measures to alleviate Anglo's concerns regarding the deal structure, which comprises Anglo unbundling its platinum and iron ore assets in South Africa.

Drone debris fell on energy infrastructure in Ukraine's northwestern region of Rivne, governor Oleksandr Koval said on Telegram. The attack triggered a defence mechanism that cut power to some localities, although it has since been restored.

HONG KONG (Reuters) - Chinese internet giant Tencent Holdings' mobile game "Dungeon and Fighter" was the top-selling app on Apple's App Store in China this week, surpassing the company's existing flagship games after it spent years looking for a new marquee title.
