(Reuters) - Shares in Gamestop surged by over 90% in premarket trading on Monday, after a weekend Reddit post from stocks influencer Keith Gill, known as "Roaring Kitty," showed a $116 million bet on the gaming retailer.
GameStop was the second-most actively traded stock, with 4.4 million shares changing hands by 4:30 a.m. ET.

MOSCOW (Reuters) - Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said on Monday the United States could face "fatal consequences" if it ignored Moscow's warnings not to let Ukraine use weapons provided by Washington to strike targets inside Russia.
Ryabkov was commenting on President Joe Biden's decision last week to approve the use of U.S.-supplied weapons to hit targets inside Russia that were involved in attacks on Ukraine's Kharkiv region.

TOKYO (Reuters) - Japan's government will finalise this year's long-term fiscal and economic roadmap as early as June 21, three government and ruling party sources told Reuters on Monday.
Markets are focusing on whether the government will uphold or tweak its target to achieve a primary budget surplus, excluding new bond sales and debt servicing costs, by the fiscal year ending in March 2026, and lower the debt-to-GDP ratio.

DIYARBAKIR, Turkey (Reuters) - Police detained a pro-Kurdish party mayor in southeast Turkey on Monday over alleged militant links and he has been replaced by the state governor, the interior ministry said, two months after the mayor won power in local elections.
