TORONTO (Reuters) - A United Nations-affiliated body is reviewing allegations Canada's human rights commission discriminated against Black and other employees and disproportionately dismissed race-based complaints, a move that could hinder Canada's ability to participate in U.N. human rights proceedings.

Intel halting $25 billion factory expansion in Israel, Israeli media report Jun 10, 2024 02:10PM

JERUSALEM (Reuters) - Intel Corp has decided to halt a $25 billion expansion of its factories in Israel, Israeli financial news website Calcalist reported on Monday.

There was no immediate comment from Intel in Israel.

Yemen's Houthis say they have arrested an 'American-Israeli spy cell' Jun 10, 2024 02:12PM

CAIRO (Reuters) - Yemen's Houthis said on Monday they have arrested an "American-Israeli spy cell", a few days after the Iran-backed group detained about a dozen United Nations personnel.

The alleged cell included former staff of the U.S. embassy in Yemen, according to a television statement from Abdel Hakim Al Khaiwani, the Houthis' intelligence chief.

PARIS (Reuters) - French President Emmanuel Macron is leaning towards endorsing Ursula von der Leyen for another term as president of the European Commission after her centre-right camp scored strongly in European Parliament elections, two sources told Reuters.

BlackRock cautious on long-term US Treasuries ahead of elections Jun 10, 2024 02:07PM

NEW YORK (Reuters) - The BlackRock Investment Institute said on Monday it was cautious on long-term U.S. Treasuries ahead of the November presidential elections as investors will likely ask for more compensation to hold them because of wide fiscal deficits.
