Hamas says it is holding Israeli colonel reported killed on Oct. 7 May 23, 2024 10:55AM

CAIRO (Reuters) - Hamas said on Thursday it was holding an Israeli colonel captured on Oct. 7, who Israel had previously reported was killed in the attacks that day.

The Hamas armed wing Al Qassem Brigades said Colonel Asaf Hamami had been wounded during his capture. It supplied no proof, and did not specify whether he was still alive now. Oxford University students arrested at pro-Palestinian sit-in, protesters say May 23, 2024 10:53AM

Amazon to deorbit pair of prototype satellites, calling tests successful May 23, 2024 10:49AM

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Amazon on Thursday said it would begin a process to deorbit two prototype satellites it launched in 2023 as an early test of its Kuiper broadband internet constellation, a planned network of over 3,000 satellites that will compete with SpaceX's Starlink.

Far-right European Parliament group expels Germany's AfD after SS remark May 23, 2024 10:45AM

BRUSSELS (Reuters) - The far-right Identity and Democracy (ID) group in the European Parliament said on Thursday it had decided to expel the Alternative for Germany's (AfD) delegation, weeks before elections to the assembly.

The decision follows comments made by Maximilian Krah, the AfD's lead candidate in the elections, to an Italian newspaper at the weekend that the Nazi's Waffen SS were "not all criminals".
