(Reuters) - U.S. prosecutors are examining whether Tesla committed securities or wire fraud by misleading investors and consumers about its electric vehicles’ self-driving capabilities, three people familiar with the matter told Reuters.

Austria's Raiffeisen backs out of pursuing Strabag deal May 8, 2024 07:43AM

(Reuters) - Austrian lender Raiffeisen Bank has decided not to pursue the acquisition of a stake in construction group Strabag, it said in a statement on Wednesday.

"In recent exchanges with the relevant authorities, RBI has been unable to obtain the required comfort in order to proceed with the proposed transaction," the Vienna-based bank wrote.

Russia says it advances in Ukraine, has struck energy and military industry May 8, 2024 07:42AM

MOSCOW (Reuters) - Russia said on Wednesday that its forces had advanced in eastern Ukraine, taking villages in two regions, and that it had struck Ukraine's energy and military infrastructure in response to attacks on Russian refineries.

Another British Conservative lawmaker defects to opposition Labour Party May 8, 2024 07:39AM

LONDON (Reuters) - A lawmaker in Prime Minister Rishi Sunak's Conservative Party defected to the opposition Labour Party on Wednesday, the second to do so in less than two weeks, criticising what she called the broken promises of a "tired and chaotic government".

Emerson Electric boosts 2024 profit view on measurement tools demand May 8, 2024 07:38AM

(Reuters) - Emerson Electric raised its full-year profit forecast on Wednesday on steady demand in its unit that makes valves, regulators and actuators, sending the engineering solutions firm's shares up about 2% in premarket trade.
