WELLINGTON (Reuters) - New Zealand's Foreign Minister Winston Peters on Tuesday postponed his visit to New Caledonia that had been scheduled for later in the week, as violence broke out in the French Pacific territory.
A spokesperson for Peters said the decision had been made to postpone travel to Noumea, the capital, to allow authorities to fully focus on the current situation.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Joe Biden signed a ban on Russian enriched uranium into law on Monday, the White House said, in the latest effort by Washington to disrupt President Vladimir Putin's invasion of Ukraine.
The ban on imports of the fuel for nuclear power plants begins in about 90 days, although it allows the Department of Energy to issue waivers in case of supply concerns.

TOKYO (Reuters) - Japan's wholesale prices rose 0.9% in April from a year earlier, steady from the previous month as the yen's decline pushed up import costs, central bank data showed on Tuesday.
The rise in the corporate goods price index (CGPI), which measures the price companies charge each other for their goods and services, compared with the median market forecast for a 0.8% gain and followed a 0.9% increase in March.

(Reuters) - A Missouri man pleaded guilty on Monday to crashing a rented truck into metal barriers surrounding the White House in May 2023, admitting that he had been "fueled by the ideology of Nazi Germany" and hoped to overthrow the U.S. government.
Sai Varshith Kandula, 20, and a citizen of India, pleaded guilty to a single count of damaging federal property. He faces up to 10 years in prison when he is sentenced in August.
