(Reuters) - U.S. stock index futures slipped on Friday, near the end of a week of sharp Wall Street gains underpinned by hopes of Federal Reserve interest rate cuts after softer-than-expected consumer inflation data.
All three main indexes had touched record highs on Thursday and the Dow briefly crossed the 40,000 milestone, before reversing gains and closing in the red.

BANGKOK (Reuters) - Forty caretaker senators on Friday petitioned Thailand's Constitutional Court to dismiss Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin over a cabinet appointment which they say breaches the constitution.
The senators object to the appointment of Pichit Chuenban, a former lawyer, as minister to Srettha's office last month during a cabinet reshuffle.

KYIV (Reuters) - A long-range Ukrainian strike on the Moscow-controlled Belbek airbase in occupied Crimea destroyed three Russian warplanes and a fuel facility near its main runway this week, U.S. commercial satellite company Maxar said.
The company cited satellite imagery taken on Thursday as showing that two MiG-31 fighter jets and an Su-27 fighter jet had been destroyed. It said one MiG-29 fighter aircraft also appeared to have been damaged.
