Donor-Advised Fund Charity Appoints New Trustee to Increase Philanthropy in Society

JENKINTOWN, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- National Philanthropic Trust, the largest independent, national donor-advised fund program and one of the 25 largest grantmaking institutions in the U.S., is pleased to announce the appointment of Gerald Kerner to its Board of Trustees.

Gerald Kerner is general counsel and managing director of Duquesne Family Office LLC in New York City. Mr. Kerner, a graduate of Rutgers College and Harvard Law School, is a member of the Bar of the State of New York. He served for two years as law clerk to the United States District Court Judge John R. Bartels in New York following graduation from law school. Thereafter, he joined the law firm of Willkie Farr & Gallagher in New York, as an associate and became a partner in that firm, focusing upon litigation in state and federal courts and regulatory matters, and remained at the law firm for some 20 years.

In 1997 Mr. Kerner became general counsel and managing director of Duquesne Capital Management, L.L.C. and remained in that position until the firm ceased operations at the end of 2010. Thereafter, and presently, he is general counsel and managing director of Duquesne Family Office LLC. He is married, has three children, and resides in New York City.
