'Takeover Fever' Continues In Biotech After Facet (FACT) Deal, Who's Next?

'Takeover Fever' in biotech land is sure to continue today after Facet Biotech Corporation (Nasdaq: FACT) agreed to be acquired by Abbott (NYSE: ABT) for $27 per share, which is a 67% premium to yesterday's close and a 54% premium to a rejected $17.50 bid last year from Biogen Idec (Nasdaq: BIIB).

Last night's deal also follows Astellas Pharma's recent $52 per share bid for OSI Pharmaceuticals Inc. (NASDAQ: OSIP), which was rejected. A higher bid is expected for OSI.
