Gold Surges To New All-Time High

With world economic conditions unstable, investors continue to flock to gold and today the precious metal has traded to all-time highs.

The August gold contract is up $9 to $1257.7 currently. The soon-expiring June contract is up 9.2 to $1256.70.

Investors have been getting exposure to gold though popular ETFs SPDR Gold Shares (NYSE: GLD) and Market Vectors Gold Miners ETF (NYSE: GDX). In addition, smaller gold ETFs like ETFS Physical Swiss Gold Shares (NYSE: SGOL) and Market Vectors Junior Gold Miners ETF (NYSE: GDXJ) have been gaining in popularity.

Others may be buying gold companies like Newmont Mining (NYSE: NEM), Goldcorp (NYSE: GG), Barrick Gold (NYSE: ABX), AngloGold Ashanti Ltd. (NYSE: AU) and Kinross Gold (NYSE: KGC).
