Danone Officially Denied Rumors it Would Acquire Mead Johnson (MJN)

Danone officially denied rumors it would acquire Mead Johnson (NYSE: MJN).

The company said, "No discussions are currently taking place between Danone and Mead Johnson, nor has Danone hired any advisor or bank to advise the company on this topic."

Earlier today, shares of Mead Johnson spiked over 16% on rumors reported in FT.com Alphaville blog that Danone hired Lazard to launch a bid for Mead Johnson. Mead Johnson closed basically flat on the day following the denial from Danone.
