September 29, 2009 11:29 AM EDT

Shares of Mead Johnson Nutrition Company (NYSE: MJN) are seeing interest mid-day on reports from FT Alphaville that Danon has brought in investment bank Lazard to work on a possible bid for Mead Johnson, following Kraft's (NYSE: KFT) takeover attempt for Cadbury (NYSE: CBY) and Unilever’s purchase of Sara Lee's (NYSE: SLE) personal care brands.

Shares of Mead Johnson have popped 7% on the reports, although we would call this in the "very early rumor stage."
