Forgent Networks (NASDAQ: FORG) 37.5% HIGHER; Reports Q1 EPS of $0.11 compared to a loss of $0.01 for the same period last year. Revenue was $9.1 million for the fiscal first quarter compared to $4.4 million for the 2006 fiscal fourth quarter.
Credence Systems (Nasdaq: CMOS) 27% HIGHER; Reports a Q4 loss of $0.02, versus the consensus of a $0.02 loss (May not compares). Revenues were $121.9 million vs. $107.81 million consensus. Net sales in the first quarter of fiscal 2007 are expected to be approximately $118.0 million to $122.0 million, with earnings per share on a GAAP basis in the range of $0.00 to $0.02. Current revenue consensus is $102.29 million and EPS consensus is a loss of $0.01. Separately, Credence announced the appointment of Lavi Lev as President and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Lev succeeds Dave Ranhoff who has stepped down.
Unifi, Inc. (NYSE: UFI) 26.4% LOWER; Company has revised its expectations for the financial results for the quarter ended December 2006. The Company previously forecasted $10-12 million EBITDA in its earnings call on October 26, 2006. The Company now expects actual results to be less than 50% of this forecast.
Genta Incorporated (Nasdaq: GNTA) 18.5% LOWER; Announced that the Company has been notified of preliminary results from a randomized Phase 3 trial of chemotherapy with or without Genasense Injection that was conducted in older, previously untreated patients with acute myelogenous leukemia. According to the analysis conducted by the Cancer and Leukemia Group B, the trial failed to meet its primary endpoint of overall survival.
Smith & Wesson Holding (Nasdaq: SWHC) 11.9% LOWER; Reports Q2 EPS of $0.07, 2 cents worse than estimates.(0.09) Revenues were $50.8 million vs. $48.6 million consensus.
Encysive Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ: ENCY) 10.1% HIGHER; Received clearance from the FDA to initiate and resume clinical studies with TBC3711, the Company's next-generation, highly selective endothelin receptor antagonist. The Company expects that clinical testing with TBC3711, including oral and intravenous formulations, will recommence during the first quarter of 2007.
Medicines Co. (Nasdaq: MDCO) 9.7% HIGHER; Stock moving after yesterday's announcement from FDA panel regarding stents. MDCO develops and markets a blood thinner, which FDA recommends taking after having stents implanted. Also, stock may be up on positive patent rumors.
Investment Technology Group (NYSE: ITG) 6% HIGHER; Announced that November 2006 U.S. trading volume was 3.7 billion shares and average daily volume (ADV) was 175 million shares. This compares to 2.5 billion shares and ADV of 119 million shares in November 2005 and 3.3 billion shares and ADV of 150 million shares in October 2006.
New York & Co. (NYSE: NWY) 5.7% HIGHER; SunTrust upgrades New York & Co from Neutral to Buy.
VeriFone Holdings (NYSE: PAY) 5.3% HIGHER; Reports Q4 adjusted EPS of $0.32, 3 cents better than estimates. Revenues came in at $157 million versus the consensus of $151.23 million. Raises Q1 EPS guidance to $0.33-$0.34, versus the consensus of $0.31. Also said it remain "very confident" in prospects in fiscal 2007.
Barclays Bank (NYSE: BCS) 4.4% HIGHER; Merrill Lynch analyst says Bank of America (NYSE: BAC) may be very interested in acquiring Barclays Bank.
