Covad Communications (AMEX: DVW) 50% HIGHER; announced it signed a definitive agreement to be acquired by Platinum Equity in an all-cash transaction worth $1.02 per share in cash.

RadioShack (NYSE: RSH) 14% HIGHER; reports Q3 earnings of $0.34 per share, versus the consensus of $0.26. Revenues came in at $960.3 million versus the consensus of $988.1 million.

Gehl Company (NASDAQ: GEHL) 10% LOWER; reports Q3 EPS of $0.40, below the consensus of $0.56. Revenues came in at $104.9 million versus the consensus of $120.1 million. Gehl expects net sales from continuing operations in the range of $445 million to $460 million and earnings per diluted share from continuing operations of $1.90 to $2.00. The consensus is $472.7 and $2.15, respectively.

FMC Corp. (NYSE: FMC) 10% HIGHER; Positive Barron's article

Alon USA Energy, Inc. (NYSE: ALJ) 9% LOWER; expects to report third quarter earnings per share in the range of $0.23 to $0.29. The Wall Street consensus is $0.61.

Office Depot (NYSE: ODP) 8% LOWER; delayed the distribution of its third-quarter earnings release and related conference call and webcast, previously scheduled to take place on October 30, 2007.

Cardica Inc. (Nasdaq: CRDC) 6.6% LOWER; plans to offer, subject to market and other conditions, 1,500,000 shares of its common stock for sale by Cardica and 2,579,795 shares of its common stock for sale by a selling stockholder in an underwritten public offering.

American Axle & Manufacturing (NYSE: AXL) 6.4% HIGHER; KeyBanc upgrades the company from Buy to Aggressive Buy and raises their price target from $30 to $34. The firm raises their 2009 estimates from $3.10 to $3.53.

Kaydon Corporation (NYSE: KDN) 6% LOWER; reports Q3 EPS of $0.54, versus the consensus of $0.59. Revenues came in at $107.4 million, versus the consensus of $110.9 million. Separately, Kaydon announced the acquisition of Avon Bearings in a cash transaction valued at $55 million.

Humana (NYSE: HUM) 5.9% HIGHER; reports Q3 earnings of $1.53 per share, ex-items, 5 cents better than estimates. Revenues came in at $6.32 billion versus the consensus of $6.21 billion. Humana sees FY07 EPS of $4.75-$4.80 versus the consensus of $4.52. Humana sees FY08 EPS of $5.30-$5.50 versus the consensus of $5.17.

Dell Inc. (Nasdaq: DELL) 3% HIGHER; Goldman adds to its Conviction Buy List, Removes HP (NYSE: HPQ)

NVIDIA Corporation (Nasdaq: NVDA) 2.7% LOWER; Lehman Bros downgrades to Equal Weight

Synta Pharmaceuticals (Nasdaq: SNTA) 2.4% HIGHER; Cramer highlights on Mad Money

MGIC Investment Corp. (NYSE: MTG) 2.4% HIGHER; Insider buying disclosed after the close Friday.

Yahoo (Nasdaq: YHOO) 2% HIGHER; has increased rather quickly during the past 10 days. It is said Yahoo has been moving up because of the upcoming Alibaba IPO. Analysts said Alibaba has raised $1.5 billion and the IPO is 180 times oversubscribed. The IPO values Alibaba at $8.8 billion and Yahoo owns 39% stake in Alibaba.
