Plug Power Inc. (Nasdaq: PLUG) 65% HIGHER; announced a purchase order for GenDrive fuel cell power units from Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. (NYSE: WMT) for use in lift trucks at one of the company's distribution centers. Plug Power said this is its largest single GenDrive order to date, although the specific terms are confidential.
Radiation Therapy Services, Inc. (Nasdaq: RTSX) 46% HIGHER; The company and Vestar Capital Partners today announced that the Company has entered into an agreement to be purchased by Vestar Capital for $32.50 per share plus assumed debt, for a deal valued at $1.1 billion.
Goodman Global, Inc. (NYSE: GGL) 15.8% HIGHER; agreed to be acquired by affiliates of private equity firm Hellman & Friedman LLC in an all-cash transaction valued at approximately $2.65 billion. Under the terms of the agreement, Goodman stockholders will receive $25.60 in cash for each outstanding share of stock upon the closing of the transaction. Goodman closed at $21.84 per share on Friday.
Schering-Plough Corp. (NYSE: SGP) 7% LOWER; reports Q3 EPS of $0.45, $0.28 ex-items, versus the consensus of $0.30. Q3 sales were $2.8 billion versus the consensus of $2.87 billion.
Countrywide Financial Corp. (NYSE: CFC) 6% LOWER; Lehman Brothers downgrades to Underweight
Gilat Satellite Networks Ltd. (Nasdaq: GILT) 5.6% HIGHER; Reports the company could be for sale
Hasbro (NYSE: HAS) 5.4% HIGHER; reports Q3 earnings of $0.78 per share, ex-items, above the consensus of $0.71. Revenues came in at $1.22 billion versus the consensus of $1.14 billion.
Fuel Tech Inc. (NASDAQ: FTEK) 5% LOWER; Merriman Curhan downgrades Fuel Tech Inc. from Neutral to Sell.
Noah Education Holdings Ltd. (NYSE: NED) 3.3% HIGHER; Friday's China-related IPO continues to see upside.
Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. (NYSE: RCL) 2.7% HIGHER; reports Q3 EPS of $1.84, above the consensus of $1.77 billion. Revenues came in at $2 billion versus the consensus of $1.79 billion. Royal Caribbean sees Q4 EPS of $0.32-$0.37, versus the consensus of $0.34. Royal Caribbean sees FY07 EPS of $2.80 to $2.85, versus the consensus of $2.76.
Thornburg Mortgage Inc. (NYSE: TMA) 2.5% HIGHER; Chairman/CEO Garrett Thornburg, bought 1 million shares on 10/19 at $9.50, brining his stake to 2,645,826 shares
Harman International Industries (NYSE: HAR) 1.3% HIGHER; entered into an agreement with affiliates of Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. L.P. and GS Capital Partners relating to the parties’ previously announced Merger Agreement. Under the terms of the agreement KKR and GSCP will purchase $400 million of 1.25% senior notes convertible under certain circumstances into Harman common stock, convertible at a price of $104 per share.
Merck & Co. Inc. (NYSE: MRK) 0.7% HIGHER; reports Q3 EPS of $0.75, 6 cents above the consensus of $0.69. Sales came in at $6.1 billion, above the consensus of $6.06 billion. Merck Raises Full-Year 2007 EPS Guidance and Now Anticipates EPS Range of $3.08 to $3.14, Excluding Restructuring Charges. The Wall Street consensus is $3.07.
AGL Resources Inc. (NYSE: ATG) INDICATED LOWER; said its third quarter earnings results are expected to be in the range of $0.16 to $0.18 per basic share, below the Wall Street consensus of $0.34. AGL Resources said, based on these results and the outlook for the remainder of the year, the company expects full-year 2007 earnings to be at the lower end of its previously announced guidance range of $2.75 to $2.85 per basic share.
