Expedia, Inc. (Nasdaq: EXPE) 15.9% HIGHER; Intends to repurchase up to 116,666,665 shares of its common stock in a tender offer at a price per share not less than $27.50 and not greater than $30.00.
Ashworth (Nasdaq: ASHW) 13.3% LOWER; reports a Q2 loss of $0.03 per share, ex-items, versus the consensus of a $0.17 profit. Revenues came in at $59.9 million versus the consensus of $62.2 million.
Color Kinetics Incorporated (Nasdaq: CLRK) 12.7% HIGHER; entered into a definitive agreement to be acquired by Royal Philips Electronics (NYSE: PHG). Philips will pay $34 per share in cash for all shares and options, or a total consideration of approximately $791 million.
EPIX Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ: EPIX) 11% HIGHER; received a response from the FDA regarding the company\\\'s appeal for immediate approval of Vasovist. In this response, the FDA, while denying the immediate approval of Vasovist, indicated that further clinical trials may not be necessary to gain approval. The FDA had previously indicated that one or two additional pivotal clinical trials would be required for approval. Instead, the FDA now stated that a blinded re-read of the images obtained from the previously completed Phase 3 clinical trials of Vasovist could support approval of Vasovist if the results are positive.
ZymoGenetics (NASDAQ: ZGEN) 9.3% HIGHER; Entered into multi-year, domestic and global license and collaboration agreements with Bayer HealthCare (NYSE: BAY) to maximize the potential of ZymoGenetics\' most advanced product candidate, recombinant human thrombin
Javelin Pharmaceuticals (AMEX: JAV) 9% HIGHER; announced that its product candidate Rylomine successfully met its primary clinical endpoint, the Sum of the Pain Intensity Difference (SPID) scores over 0-24 hours postoperatively.
Microchip Technology (NASDAQ: MCHP) 6.4% LOWER; Q1 Earnings per share are expected to be approximately $0.36 on a GAAP basis and $0.39 on a non-GAAP basis, without the effect of equity compensation expense. (Consensus is $0.37). Net sales are expected to be up about 2% sequentially versus prior guidance provided on April 26, 2007, of up about 5% sequentially. GAAP and non-GAAP gross margins are expected to be in line with our prior guidance of about 60.1% and 60.75%, respectively.
Leggett & Platt (NYSE: LEG) 4.75% LOWER; sees Q2 EPS between $0.31-0.36 vs. prior guidance for $0.42-0.47 vs. consensus of $0.39. LEG sees FY EPS between $1.35-1.55 vs. prior guidance of $1.60-1.80 vs. consensus of $$1.58.
Yahoo! Inc. (Nasdaq: YHOO) 4% HIGHER; announced after the close that Terry Semel, current Yahoo! Chairman and CEO, will assume the position of non-executive Chairman. Jerry Yang, Yahoo! co-founder and long-time board member, was named to the CEO position.
LodgeNet Entertainment Corporation (Nasdaq: LNET) 4% HIGHER; expects to report revenue in the range of $490.0 million to $510.0 million, versus the consensus of $474.9 million. Adjusted Net Loss is expected to be $(19.0) million to $(9.0) million or $(0.83) to $(0.39) per share. For the full year 2008, LodgeNet expects to report revenue in the range of $565.0 million to $585.0 million, versus the consensus of $568.9 million. Adjusted Net Income is expected to be $6.0 million to $21.0 million or $0.26 to $0.92 per share. NOTE: CNBC\'s Jim Cramer highlighted LNET on Mad Money Monday evening.
Best Buy Co. Inc. (NYSE: BBY) 3.8% LOWER; reports Q1 EPS of $0.39, versus the consensus of $0.50. Revenues came in at $7.93 billion versus the consensus of $7.85 billion. Sees FY EPS of $2.95-$3.15, versus the consensus of $3.15
Asset Acceptance Capital (Nasdaq: AACC) 3% HIGHER; announced that its Board of Directors has declared a special one-time cash dividend of $2.45 per share payable July 31, 2007 to shareholders of record July 19, 2007.
Actuant Corporation (NYSE: ATU) 3% HIGHER; reports Q3 EPS of $0.95 (including $0.01 charge), 2 cents better than estimates. Revenues were $385 million vs. $366.14 million consensus. Fourth quarter EPS (excluding restructuring charges) is projected to be in the $0.90-0.95 range. (Consensus is $0.95). Full year fiscal 2007 EPS is expected to be in the range of $3.38-3.43 (excluding European Electrical restructuring charges) on sales of $1.430-1.440 billion. Bakers Footwear Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: BKRS) INDIATED LOWER; reports a Q1 loss of $0.15 vs. consensus for $0.08 profit. Revenues were $49.3 million vs. $51.21 million consensus. The Company anticipates a net loss for fiscal 2007 in the range of $1.6 million to $3.3 million and a net loss per share in the range of $0.24 to $0.50. (Consensus is $0.38 profit)
