Chaparral Steel Company (Nasdaq: CHAP) +$9.18; Company said its Board of Directors has initiated a review of strategic alternatives. The company has retained Goldman, Sachs & Co. to assist in the review.
Overseas Shipholding (NYSE: OSG) +$5.30; Reports Q1 EPS of $2.16, 12 cents better than estimates.(2.04) Revenues were $275.3 million vs. $278.89 million consensus. OSG purchases Archer Daniels Midland's 13.3% stake in the Company and Board authorizes new $200 million share repurchase program.
Teledyne Tech (NYSE: TDY) +$5.28; Reports Q1 earnings of $0.57 per share, 7 cents better than estimates. Revenues came in at $385.6 million versus the consensus of $384.15 million. Sees Q2 EPS of $0.58-$0.61 versus the consensus of $0.57. Sees FY07 EPS of $2.42-$2.48 versus the consensus of $2.39.
XL Capital (NYSE: XL) +$4.92; Reports Q1 EPS of $3.03, 90 cents better than estimates.(2.13) Revenues were $2.48 billion vs. $2.36 billion consensus.

Reaffirms FY07 EPS of $2.45-$2.60 vs. consensus of $2.58. Also, Reuters reports the DEA has temporarily suspended ABC's Orlando, FL, distribution center's license. ABC says the DEA move shouldn't affect earnings.
