Gold miners gained Friday morning as the precious metal advanced to $1267/oz, its highest level in weeks. Strength in the commodity led to gains across the board, with Barrick Gold (NYSE: ABX) and Newmont Mining (NYSE: NEM) set to open solidly in the green, while traders eyed data on GDP and durable goods orders, slated to be released at 8:30 am.
Other miners in focus included Goldcorp (NYSE: GG), Franco-Nevada (NYSE: FNV), Yamana Gold (NYSE: AUY), Kinross Gold (NYSE: KGC), and Agnico Eagle Mines (NYSE: AEM).
