DA Davidson shares update on Packaged Foods sales trends
DA Davidson analyst Brian Holland has shared with clients an update on channel trends for Packaged Foods companies tracked through March 22.
The analyst commented, "Packaged Food (excludes baker, butcher, deli, produce) L4W Y/Y sales declined for the first time since April 2024 (week after Easter), as volumes slipped the past two weeks amidst lower relative promotion. The later Easter this year might explain the softness, and presumably will persist for one more week. Within our coverage universe SJM-NEUTRAL L4W Y/Y $ accelerated versus L12W and L52W; BRBR-NEUTRAL, HSY-NEUTRAL, SMPL-NEUTRAL, FRPT-BUY, MDLZ-BUY, FLO-NEUTRAL, OTLY-BUY, LANC-NEUTRAL, CPB-NEUTRAL, K-NEUTRAL, and UTZ-NEUTRAL decelerated."
