Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT) maybe looking to partner with Verizon Communications (NYSE: VZ) and Comcast Corporation (Nasdaq: CMCSA) in plans to offer television through its XBOX Live.

Bloomberg reports Microsoft is planning to announce a new addition to its XBOX Live with a streaming service. A source has said the company is in talks with nearly 30 other companies in Europe and the U.S. to ensure the success of the program.

Microsoft announced plans on September 14 which allow for XBOX Live users to use BING through their console. Other plans include a search for shows on the web through voice recognition, made possible by its Kinect device.

Users would still be required to pay television service companies their monthly fees, but would be able to watch and search for their favorite shows through XBOX Live. The new service will be similar to the one already offered by XBOX with Netflix (Nasdaq: NFLX) and HULU.

This move would allow Microsoft to offer its users more for the $60 annual fee they pay. The company is continuing to try to separate themselves from rival Sony (NYSE: SNE), whose PlayStaytion 3 online service is free to users.
