Traders Buying Casino Stocks Amid Record January Revenue in Macau (LVS, MGM, WYNN, MPEL)

Traders may have bought Casino & Gaming stocks today following news earlier out of Portugal's Lusa that gross sales in China's Macau during the month of January rose 63% to all-time highs around $1.75 billion.

Although not every operator currently has exposure to the Macau region, investors were likely purchasing these stocks today with hopes that a recovery in the American markets will soon follow.

  • Las Vegas Sands (NYSE: LVS) up 10.2% to $17.09
  • MGM MIRAGE (NYSE: MGM) up 6.9% to $11.82
  • Wynn Resorts (Nasdaq: WYNN) up 5.7% to $65.43
  • Melco Crown (Nasdaq: MPEL) up 5.9% to $3.78
