Four Companies Slated To Receive U.S. Financing to Build Next Generation Nuclear Reactors

According to reports from the Wall Street Journal, four U.S. utility companies will split $18.5 billion in federal financing to build the next generation of nuclear reactors.
The four companies that are expected to receive Energy Department loan guarantees include, UniStar Nuclear Energy, NRG Energy Inc. (NYSE: NRG), Scana Corp (NYSE: SCG) and Southern Co. (NYSE: SO).
An official announced has yet to be made, but the Journal cited interviews with Energy Department and NRC staff members.
UniStar Nuclear Energy is a Constellation Energy (NYSE: CEG) and EDF company.
