DeVry (DV) Replaces General Motors (GM) In S&P 500

Late Monday, Standard & Poor's announced that General Motors Corp. (NYSE: GM) will be removed from the S&P 500 index after the close of trading on Tuesday, June 2 after filing bankruptcy protection.
  • General Motor's place in the S&P 500 will be taken by S&P MidCap 400 constituent DeVry Inc. (NYSE: DV).
  • S&P SmallCap 600 constituent Aaron's Inc. (NYSE: AAN) will replace DeVry in the S&P MidCap 400,
  • Cbeyond (Nasdaq: CBEY) will replace Aaron's in the S&P SmallCap 600, all after the close of trading on Monday, June 8.
