Cablevision (CVC) CEO Says Credit Conditions Make Asset Sales Less Likely -DJ

September 18, 2008 10:22 AM EDT
Dow Jones is reporting that Cablevision's (NYSE: CVC) CEO, James Dolan, appearing at a Goldman Sachs investor conference this morning, said, "The shutdown of the credit markets makes the purchase of assets and the sale of assets less likely."

The comment stomped out any hopes that Cablevision could soon announce the sale of certain assets, an initiative which Cablevision has recently been exploring. Dolan continued, "Hopefully all of our assets make sense together. If I had to pick one that made the least amount of sense, I think I'd pick the movie theaters."

Cablevision Systems Corporation operates as a cable operator in the United States.
