BRUSSELS (Reuters) -The European Union Commission is to end six years of rule of law proceedings against Poland, Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said on Monday, marking the opening of a "new chapter" for the country.

  The proceedings were launched when far-right populist party PiS ruled the country. Donald Tusk, a pro-EU liberal, became prime minister last year, putting Poland on a more pro-EU course.

BERLIN (Reuters) - SAP has prolonged CEO Christian Klein's contract for a further three years, extending it to the end of 2028, the German software company announced on Monday.

In addition, Klein was named chairman of the executive board after previously serving as its speaker, said SAP, one of Europe's biggest tech firms.

(Reuters) - U.S. stock index futures edged higher on Monday, pointing to more gains on Wall Street, as traders priced in a higher chance of the Federal Reserve cutting interest rates this year.

The benchmark S&P 500 and the blue-chip Dow closed at three-week highs on Friday after data showed U.S. job growth slowed more than expected in April, taking pressure off the U.S. central bank to keep rates higher for longer.
