WHO: Ebola Outbreak Could Affect 20,000 People (TKMR) (BCRX)
August 28, 2014 11:55 AM EDTThe World Health Organization (WHO) issued a road map outlining plans to scale-up efforts against the Ebola outbreak. When all is said and done, the WHO believes Ebola could affect 20,000 people.
The following was posted by the WHO today:
The aim is to stop ongoing Ebola transmission worldwide within 69 months, while rapidly managing the consequences of any further international spread. It also recognizes the need to address, in parallel, the outbreaks broader socioeconomic impact.

WHO Updates on Ebola Outbreak in W. Africa (TKMR) (BCRX)
August 28, 2014 11:31 AM EDTThe World Health Organization offered the following update on the Ebola outbreak in West Africa.
Epidemiology and surveillanceThe total number of probable and confirmed cases in the current outbreak of Ebola virus disease (EVD) in the four affected countries as reported by the respective Ministries of Health of Guinea, Liberia, Nigeria, and Sierra Leone is 3069, with 1552 deaths.The outbreak continues to accelerate.
