Incyte (INCY) Reports Significant Data from RESPONSE Ahead of ASCO
June 3, 2014 10:46 AM EDTIncyte (Nasdaq: INCY) announced results from the RESPONSE trial, the first pivotal Phase III study evaluating a JAK1/JAK2 inhibitor for the treatment of polycythemia vera (PV). Ruxolitinib, compared to best available therapy (BAT), significantly improved hematocrit control (red blood cell volume) without the need for phlebotomy (a procedure to remove blood from the body to reduce the concentration of red blood cells) and reduced spleen size in patients with uncontrolled PV -- those who are resistant to or intolerant of hydroxyurea (HU). Incyte (INCY) Reports Results from Ruxolitinib Proof-of-Concept Phase II
June 2, 2014 2:18 PM EDTIncyte (NASDAQ: INCY) announced full results from RECAP, a Phase II trial of ruxolitinib, a JAK1/JAK2 inhibitor, in combination with capecitabine in second-line metastatic pancreatic cancer. The findings from this proof-of-concept trial showed that ruxolitinib plus capecitabine prolonged survival over capecitabine alone in patients with elevated C-reactive protein (CRP), a well-established marker of systemic inflammation (hazard ratio = 0.47; 95% CI, 0.26-0.85; P=0.01 (2-sided)). Patients in this subgroup treated with ruxolitinib plus capecitabine also achieved improvements in other efficacy measures including objective response rate, clinical benefit response, and weight gain.
