First Manhattan Sends Letter to Vivus (VVUS) Holders Over Board Nominees

(FMC), an owner-managed and operated investment advisory firm and the beneficial holder of approximately 9.9 percent of the outstanding shares of VIVUS, Inc. (Vivus) (NASDAQ: VVUS), today announced that it has filed definitive proxy materials with the Securities and Exchange Commission regarding the election of its independent director nominees. FMC is seeking to have its nine highly qualified nominees elected to Vivus Board at the Companys 2013 Annual Meeting of Stockholders.
