General Motors (NYSE: GM) U.S. May auto sale up 3.1 percent, versus consensus estimates calling for a 5.5 percent rise.

Retail sales increased 9 percent, fleet sales were down 10 percent and the fleet mix was 26 percent of total sales.

Ford (F) U.S. May Sales Rose 14%; Fusion, Escape Hit Fourth-Straight Record Month

Ford Motor Co. (NYSE: F) U.S. May sales 14 percent, versus the consensus of an 11 percent gain.

Ford said car sales were up 9 percent, utilities up 15 percent and trucks up 18 percent. Retail sales increased 17 percent, marking the best May retail sales results since 2005.
