March 20, 2013 5:10 PM EDTDespite CEO Ron Johnson's efforts to turn around J.C. Penney (NYSE: JCP) as retailer, he's really making it hard on himself.
According to Bloomberg, Johnson has hired no less than nine executives which live "airplane only" distance away, which translates to more miles than would make for a comfortable commute.

February 6, 2013 12:03 PM ESTJCPenney (NYSE: JCP) CEO Ron Johnson spoke with CNBC this morning, issuing comments about how he thinks the first year under his reign went.
Notably, following earlier reports that there might be layoffs at the company's headquarters, Johnson said there's about "a rumor per day on JCPenney and that he won't "comment on that," only that the retailer is looking to operate in the most cost-effective way.
