Verizon (VZ) CFO Says 9.8M Smartphones Sold in Q4; 6.2M Were iPhones (AAPL)
January 22, 2013 8:52 AM ESTVerizon Communications (NYSE: VZ) CFO Fran Shammo said 9.8 million smartphones were sold in the fourth-quarter 2012. Notably, this compares with 10 million reported by AT&T (NYSE: T) earlier in January.
Of the total, 6.2 million were Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) iPhones and 3.6 million were Google (Nasdaq: GOOG) Android-based devices.... More
Vodafone (VOD) Slips Following Verizon (VZ) Q4 Miss
January 22, 2013 6:35 AM ESTShares of Vodafone (Nasdaq: VOD) are ticking lower following fourth-quarter results from Verizon Communications (NYSE: VZ) issued earlier.
Verizon reported GAAP EPS of 38 cents, missing consensus estimates calling for 52 cents. The number included items from Superstorm Sandy.

January 22, 2013 6:31 AM ESTVerizon Communications, Inc. (NYSE: VZ) reported Q4 EPS of $0.38, which may not compare with the analyst estimate of $0.52. Revenue for the quarter came in at $30.05 billion versus the consensus estimate of $29.75 billion.
EPS includes 7 cent Hurricane Sandy effect.
