Commenting on developments, analysts Ajay Jain of Cantor Fitzgerald said We believe the reaction to WAG's 1Q earnings is understandable and reflects continued frustration on the lack of transparency on the Alliance Boots transaction and the lack of clarity regarding the underlying earnings picture.

Walgreen Company (WAG) Misses Q1 EPS by 12c
December 21, 2012 7:32 AM ESTWalgreen Company (NYSE: WAG) reported Q1 EPS of $0.58, $0.12 worse than the analyst estimate of $0.70. Revenue for the quarter came in at $17.32 billion versus the consensus estimate of $17.5 billion.
