Nomura Securities slashed estimates and its price target on Neutral-rated J. C. Penney (NYSE: JCP) from $26 to $18.

On the back of weak earnings and just plain dismal sales, Friday's muted stock reaction in J. C. Penney (NYSE: JCP) suggested to shareholders a bottom might finally be in. Monday though has been different story. Shares of the baffled retailer are down 11.7 percent to a new three-year low as worries mount.
Analyst at Deutsche Bank said highlighted three points for investors to watch.

Shares of J.C. Penney (NYSE: JCP) are trading at lows not seen since early 2009. Today's downturn extends Fridays losses which came on the heels of disappointing third quarterly earnings and dismal sales numbers that are exacerbated fears that the company's so-called turnaround isn't materializing.
