Visa's tepid revenue outlook clouds profit beat, shares drop

(Reuters) -Visa's tepid forecast for current-quarter revenue growth on Thursday eclipsed a market-beating earnings report that was powered by customers swiping their cards for big purchases during the holiday shopping period and robust travel.
Even so, executives at Visa struck an optimistic tone over the outlook for spending across the year.

Visa (V) Tops Q1 EPS by 7c
January 25, 2024 4:08 PM ESTVisa (NYSE: V) reported Q1 EPS of $2.41, $0.07 better than the analyst estimate of $2.34. Revenue for the quarter came in at $8.6 billion versus the consensus estimate of $8.55 billion.
