East West Bancorp Reports Net Income for Full Year 2023 of $1.2 Billion and Diluted Earnings Per Share of $8.18; Increases Dividend by 15%

(East West or the Company) (Nasdaq: EWBC), parent company of East West Bank, reported its financial results for the full year and fourth quarter of 2023. Full year 2023 net income was $1.2 billion, or $8.18 per diluted share. Excluding $70 million pre-tax of FDIC Special Assessment-related expense (the FDIC charge) and $7 million of net losses on an AFS debt security, adjusted diluted earnings per share1 for the year were $8.56.
